Weight Training Routine - The Super Set

A weight training routine is required to build strength. A muscled strong body will respond better to nutrition. Your metabolism will convert your food to useful energy, not fat. Ideally you feed your muscle and starve your fat. This works best when you stretch and strain (not pain!) your muscles.

Start your routine with Super Sets. I started out many years ago on Super Sets and I have introduced the training to both of my sons. The idea of a Super Set is to lift as much weight as many times as you can in a fixed period of time. The weight is light enough that you can do a dozen repetitions of an exercise. Start out light. You can always increase the weight. Click here for a basic routine that is simple and easy to do.

Stretching is exercise and flexibility is a basic component of fitness. Always fully extend your exercise to maintain flexibility. Add another activity to aid in being more flexible. I highly recommend Yoga. I have attended Hot Yoga classes and the benefits are substantial.

Look at the main muscle groups. Select activities that will stretch and strain each of the groups. The activities that work best for me are Super Sets, Yoga and Cycling. Remember, you don’t need to be a body builder to have strong muscle. Stretch and strain (not pain) is the simple way to exercise your muscles.

Resistance Band Exercises are a great replacement for weights. They are inexpensive and can be taken anywhere.
