FAQS

So often in the FAQS we are in a hurry! We need to lose 10 pounds in ten days or we want to fit a suit or dress in a month. We do not want to settle for the truth because the truth takes too long. For most FAQS it is going to be a lot of work to lose one pound per week - that is four pounds a month! But, those four pounds are going to stay off for good, provided you keep up the maintenance. Be patient. Time goes by really quickly. Find the activities that you like to do and track your diet. Two months and eight pounds later you are going to feel like a million bucks! I welcome your feedback! Click here to ask. Difficult questions – logical experienced answers.

  • I want to lose 10 pounds in four weeks for an important event. What can I do?
    • This is a variant of a very common question. How do I lose weight quickly?

The first thing you have to do is to manage your expectation; it is not healthy to lose weight too quickly.

One pound per week is the limit – and is doable- with some hard work. Four weeks? Four pounds.

      Take the 30 day challenge!

  • I am trying to reduce the fat in my diet. I have heard that it is recommended to keep the fat intake below 30% of my total diet. This seems like an awful lot. Is 30% right?
    • Yes it is. Most foods that we eat have fat in them.

If you count your grams fat intake, multiply by 900 and then divide by the total calories that you have eaten, you will see that the number (percent of calories that are fat) is not as low as you might think.

I avoid fats and I keep my number around 25%. Donuts, ice cream, frosting, cooking oil are mainly fat and will take your number over 30% for sure.
